VARSITY LOGISTICS NAMED FINALIST IN 2001 MIDRANGE TECHNOLOGY SHOWCASE PRODUCT EXCELLENCE AWARDS FOR SHIPSOFT™ 2.4
Varsity's TMS solution continues to enjoy award-winning reputation
San Francisco, CA. May 21, 2001. Varsity Logistics, Inc., the pioneer of integrated small package shipping solutions for the AS/400, today announced that it's latest TMS solution, ShipSoft 2.4, has been voted one of the top three products in the Shipping Automation category in the 2001 Midrange Technology Showcase Product Excellence Awards (PEA) recognition program. The award recognizes products that demonstrate quality features, innovative design, and exceptional value. All products that are nominated and receive PEA recognition are designed for use with the IBM iSeries (formerly AS/400) brand computers. Varsity will demonstrate ShipSoft 2.4 this week at the Distribution/Computer Expo in Chicago from May 22nd to May 24th.
ShipSoft is a complete, integrated solution for automating parcel, LTL and international package shipments. ShipSoft streamlines the identification of transportation carriers, obtains shipment pricing, ensures compliance with established shipping rules and regulations, and prepares all necessary documentation. ShipSoft gives shippers complete control and visibility through point-to-point tracking and analysis of shipment data maintained in an historical database. This carrier-neutral shipping solution provides a single source for rates and transportation options to support effective, efficient decision making processes. ShipSoft seamlessly interfaces with most major Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Order Entry (OE), and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions.
Selection of the top products was accomplished with an online voting process that eliminated all possibilities of hanging chads or dimpled ballots. We believe the opinions and judgements of the iSeries and AS/400 users are the best test of how a product performs, said David Uptmor, publisher of Midrange Technology SHOWCASE. When a company wins a Product Excellence Award, it shows that a very critical audience has responded in a positive fashion to a product that is needed and a service which that company delivers. A Product Excellence Award says this company has made a lot of customers happy.
This award is very timely, as we just launched ShipSoft 2.4 and are aggressively going to market with it, said Marc Herman, president and CEO of Varsity Logistics. The PEA award is yet another testament to the quality and performance of ShipSoft, and highlights the fact that we have extremely satisfied customers.
