VARSITY CUSTOMERS ACHIEVE 100% ACCURACY WITH NEW USPS RATES
July 1, 2002 postal rate changes were not an obstacle for ShipSoft customers
San Francisco, CA. August 5, 2002. Varsity Logistics, Inc., the pioneer of integrated shipping solutions for the IBM iSeries, announces the successful completion of the latest United States Postal Service (USPS) rate update. Due to the nature of its complexity, this update was an exceptional achievement, enabling ShipSoft customers to ship tens of thousands of USPS packages utilizing the new rates on July 1, 2002.
To ensure Varsity customers were ready to go live with the new rate change, rate and manifest updates were available for electronic delivery or via mail, two weeks prior to the effective date. Varsity's support department was fully staffed over the weekend prior to July 1 to support implementation of the new rate information.

The July 1, 2002 rate change was the most comprehensive USPS update in three years. Adding to the complexity were changes to manifests (postage statements).

The USPS rate update is included as part of ShipSoft annual maintenance. It is the third rate update this year, following equally successful rate updates for UPS and FedEx Ground.
