VARSITY LOGISTICS JOINS PEOPLESOFT PARTNER CONNECTION PROGRAM
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — September 21, 2004 —Varsity Logistics, Inc., the pioneer of transportation management solutions for the IBM iSeries, today announced their joining of the PeopleSoft® Software Partner Connection Program.
ShipSoft, Varsity's parcel and freight shipping software, helps businesses of all sizes manage the full transportation spectrum of parcel, truckload and LTL shipments, including rate shopping, manifesting, parcel packing, international shipments and invoice auditing.
The Varsity developed interface between Varsity ShipSoft and PeopleSoft World software provides customers with order processing from order entry through package delivery. "The integration further provides our joint customers with interoperability between their shipping department and the rest of their organization," said Marc Herman, President and CEO of Varsity Logistics.
The ShipSoft interface for PeopleSoft World allows shipment data to flow between the two systems on the iSeries. Shipment and order information is shared across the organization enabling:
- Rate shopping, selection of shipping options and quotation of shipping rates at order entry
- Instant visibility to shipment status and simplified requests for proof of delivery
- Accurate shipping costs for invoicing and analysis
